EuroTalk Interactive - Talk Now Learn Turkish ReviewThis program has been a real delight, and a great place to start with Turkish. It includes a bunch of little sections and, within these, you can easily navigate between learning and practicing words, playing short games with those words, and practicing speaking. The speaking feature, where you record yourself saying the word and then the program plays your recorded attempt next to the native speaker pronunciation, is surprisingly helpful. Each word on this program is said by both a male and female speaker. Their accents are quite different, which seems very helpful in terms of familiarizing yourself with how the language is actually spoken. There are nine sections: first words, food, colors, phases, body, numbers, time, shopping and countries. Each section teaches about 40 words. I would have found it more helpful if one of the sections would have been about food in a restaurant, and ordering in a restaurant. The food section is all groceries. And the shopping section doesn't cover the major items most people look to purchase in turkey (like rugs, jewelry, souvenirs,) but it does cover many common household objects. There is also a feature that allows you to print out picture flash cards, which I have found useful in labeling objects around my house. Overall, I have been really happy to have my first experience with this language come through this CD. It was a really affordable purchase. The format makes it so approachable, and the pace is your own, so it is really easy and relatively fun to use.EuroTalk Interactive - Talk Now Learn Turkish Overview
