Aramaic Peshitta New Testament Translation - Messianic Version ReviewHaving owned Janet Magiera's first New Testament translation,I was happy to see that she has published a Messianic Version!
For those that are familiar with her earlier translation I can highlight a few of the differences;
*The Introduction is shorter and there is no Idiom Chart in the Messianic edition.
*Janet Magiera uses names like "Yeshue", "Alaha", "Marya" and "Rukha" rather than the generic terms like "Lord", "God" or "Holy Spirit".
I found that the names were very similar to Hebrew and it doesn't take much reading to recognize the names and places. It's obvious to me that Mrs.Magiera considered context in deciding whether a word like "Lord" should be translated or left in the text as "Lord".
This version provides clarity in using various names in the New Testament. A reader can appreciate the difference between "Lord" as a master or a specific individual- Yeshue Meshikha.
I highly recommend this Messianic Version for anyone that appreciates a New Testament translation from the Aramaic. I found the price to be very reasonable also!Aramaic Peshitta New Testament Translation - Messianic Version Overview
