Singing the Body of God: The Hymns of Vedantadesika in Their South Indian Tradition ReviewA painstaking review which purports to be the first full length study of Vedantadesika and his works- a claim contradicted by the numerous references to earlier work cited by the author himself.
A catchy title which does not do justice to the contents.
Translation of verses leaves much to be desired.
Some notable omissions in references are M.Narasimhachary's book in the Sahitya Academy series on Makers of Indian literature(2004),Oppiliappan Satagopan's magnificent translations of some of the poems on the internet, Padukasahasram, Yadavabhyudaya and Hamsa sandesa of Desikan, Poundarikapuram Andavan's recent collections of commentaries and translations.
