Exploring Translation Theories ReviewThis book is a must for any student in Translation Studies ( although i won't say it is a must for practicing translators who aren't interested in the theory behind the practice !). First of all , and as the writer himself mentions in the introduction, this book is a critical overview of theories in the field of translation. Having read Munday's Introducing Translation Studies I can see how this book is different in that it is not a mere survey of Translation theories ( and who has done what) but rather a critical overview of what has been done so far in the field. Theories are grouped into different paradigms, which helps deepen one's understanding of them. As a student I am familiar now with core texts and core theories in the field as well as prominent scholars and researchers. Personally , I have experienced a (paradigm shift) and many (aha!) moments, and my understanding of what constitutes a translation has been completely transformed.
