Out Of Error: Further Essays On Critical Rationalism ReviewCritical Rationalism (CR) was Karl Popper's radical gift to Scientific method. "The Logic of Scientific Discovery" and later "Conjectures and Refutations" showed that falsification, explanatory power and problem-solving ability to be more important than any theory of justification.In 1994 David Miller Published "Critical Rationalism: A Restatement and Defense." In that he explored, refined, clarified, defended and extended Critical Rationalism, improving on Karl Popper's formulation.
In "Out of Error," Miller develops CR more and continues his unmasking of justificationists, who are still trying to slip induction into theories, muddying things up. Some even try to co-opt Popper a promoter of induction. They just don't get it. We need to acknowledge our fallibility, our need to aggressively search for disconfirmations of our theories and have a healthy skeptical attitude toward them lest we get complacent and not look for better theories.
There is also an interesting section of how CR is indebted to Tarksi's work and comments about W.W. Bartley'spart in the evolution of CR (Retreat to Commitment).
